REACh
Opel supports the underlying goals of REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals manufactured in or imported into the EU.) – the key chemical control regulation in the EU, which is meant to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals. The law entered into force on June 1st 2007.
Article 33 of REACh requires that manufacturers of goods, which contain a substance listed on the Candidate List in a concentration above 0.1% (weight by weight), have to provide enough information to allow the safe use of the product to the consumer.
This is consistent with the Opel commitment to promote the responsible production, use and handling of the vehicles we manufacture.
